Dear Turkey Creek Homeowner:

The Turkey Creek Community consists of the many homeowners who have made an investment in property in the community. The Turkey Creek Golf & Country Club is also a major part of the community. The community is facing a serious situation that would have a detrimental effect on property values not only for homes directly on the golf course but for all property that is a part of the golf course community.

The Turkey Creek Golf and Country Club recently held a public meeting in which they explained that the current economic climate has directly impacted the club to the point that they may need to cease operation. If the golf and country club ceases operation, estimates by numerous realtors and financial specialists suggest that property values within Turkey Creek could be reduced by 15-30%.

A Workshop is being sponsored by the TCMOA Board of Directors at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 in the Golf Clubhouse. Please plan to attend the meeting and encourage your neighbors to come to the event. It was obvious at the recent meeting held by the Turkey Creek Golf and Country Club that many of the homeowners in attendance felt that the TCMOA should provide financial assistance in order to protect property values. The TCMOA Board of Directors needs your input and suggestions as to ways in which TCMOA should or should not assist. One of the options being considered is a special assessment to all homeowners. Input is needed from every property owner in Turkey Creek.

Please communicate your ideas and concerns in one or more of the following ways.
•     Attend the meeting on March 3 and subsequent BOD meetings
•     Send email to board@tcmoa.com or president@tcmoa.com.
•     Write and sign a letter. Please address it to President of TCMOA and leave in a sealed envelope in the boxes at the TCMOA office or in the Mail Center Box 1000.

Please give serious consideration to what actions you feel should be taken. If you receive this letter by email, please share it with your neighbors and friends in Turkey Creek. Please encourage all homeowners to provide an email address for further communication.

  1. Correction, this was posted over two years ago. The course has been in financial trouble for some time. The reason I posted this announcement from the board of directors was to show we have been trying to warn the members and community that closing the club is not something we decided to do overnight.
